On April 15, the Institute of Engineering at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), in collaboration with Ascendas Company, organized a seminar titled 'AI Empowerment for Autonomous Robotics with MATLAB' to support future engineers in developing advanced autonomous robot systems.
The speaker at the seminar was Mr. Ngo Duc Thang, Application Engineer at Ascendas Company. Additionally, the seminar was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hung, Vice Director of the Institute of Engineering; Dr. Nguyen Van Nhanh, Vice Director; Mr. Le Hong Hieu, Vice Director; and Ms. Nguyen Minh Ngoc, Representative of Ascendas Company.

Opening the seminar, speaker Ngo Duc Thang introduced various aspects of autonomous system design, including visual image processing, types of sensors used in autonomous robots, motion processes, behavioral planning, motion control, path tracking, and logic control. Additionally, the speaker discussed the challenges of applying AI to autonomous robots, such as handling excessive or insufficient data for performing actions, and the limitations of tools that are not fully developed or cannot be integrated with other systems.
Speaker Ngo Duc Thang discusses AI applications in robot manufacturing
Afterward, students were updated on the application of AI in robot inventions. Specifically, AI in robots enhances their ability to perform complex tasks. Collaborative robots (cobots) work alongside humans to make the production process more flexible and faster.

Applications of MATLAB software were also presented at the seminar. MATLAB, developed by MathWorks, is a software that provides a numerical computing and programming environment. It allows users to perform matrix calculations, draw function graphs or information charts, execute algorithms, create user interfaces, and link with computer programs written in various programming languages.
The seminar supports students in their learning and research processes
With the valuable information shared, we believe that the recent seminar will actively support students of the HUTECH Institute of Engineering in researching and applying AI in autonomous robots. Additionally, it highlights the potential for development in various fields, enabling students to apply this knowledge more effectively in their learning and research processes.
