On the afternoon of November 1, students from the Institute of Applied Sciences at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), in collaboration with FOSS Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Thang Long Chemicals and Instruments Joint Stock Company, organized a seminar on "NIR Spectroscopy Technology Solutions for Rapid Determination of Physical and Chemical Indicators in the Laboratory (Protein, Fat, Fiber in Food Samples, Raw Materials, and Animal Feed)."
The seminar featured two speakers: Mr. Tran Khai Khuong, General Director of FOSS Vietnam Co., Ltd., and Mr. Ngo Dinh Dat, Regional Sales Director of FOSS Vietnam Co., Ltd. Additionally, the event was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thai Van Nam, Vice Director of the HUTECH Institute of Applied Sciences; Ms. Vo Thi Nghia Son, representative of Thang Long Chemicals and Instruments Joint Stock Company; along with lecturers and students from the HUTECH Institute of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - Animal Husbandry, and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City.

At the seminar, students and speakers learned about FOSS Company Limited, a company that develops comprehensive solutions to ensure and improve food quality. They also discussed trends in laboratory sample analysis and the company's role in enhancing practical teaching and applying current practices. Specifically, Mr. Ngo Dinh Dat and Mr. Tran Khai Khuong introduced students to traditional methods of analyzing protein, fat, and fiber, as well as the rapid analysis method using NIR Spectroscopy technology.
Students gains valuable insights and knowledge
In particular, the speakers conducted a quick analysis of protein, fat, and fiber in food samples, raw materials, and animal feed, allowing students to observe and learn from the process.
Students receive hands-on training with rapid analysis equipment in the laboratory
During the interaction with the speakers, HUTECH students asked numerous questions about sample processing, analysis time, equipment lifespan, and the method of constructing a calibration curve for rapid analysis equipment using NIR Spectroscopy technology. The specific and detailed answers from the speakers provided students with valuable knowledge for their learning process. This will equip them for their future endeavors in studying, researching, and entering the labor market.
