To celebrate the 74th anniversary of Traditional Student Day (January 9, 1950 - January 9, 2024) and to foster a volunteering spirit among students, the Institute of Applied Sciences and the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) recently launched the 2024 Spring Volunteer Campaign, featuring many meaningful activities.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Lam Vinh Son, Vice Director of the Institute of Applied Sciences, along with lecturers and students from the Institute of Applied Sciences and the Faculty of Civil Engineering.

This year, the campaign took place in Tan Dong Commune, Thanh Hoa District, Long An, from January 3 to 6, 2024. The aim is to alleviate both material and emotional difficulties for students, and to extend love and support to heroic Vietnamese mothers and families under preferential treatment policies.

At the launching ceremony, Mr. Quach Lien Dat, Leader of the 2024 Spring Volunteer Campaign, provided a detailed report on the preparation. The campaign has received substantial support from officers, lecturers, alumni, and students of the Institute of Applied Sciences and the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
The campaign featured five key projects: painting, children's festival with vendor booths, awarding notebooks and scholarships, providing school supplies, and visiting and presenting gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers and families under preferential treatment policies.

Many meaningful activities took place, helping to spread humanistic values throughout the community and society
Also at the ceremony, the Executive Committee of the Youth Union - Association of the Institute of Applied Sciences accepted the "Pig Knight" piggy bank project, which was implemented by the Institute from December 2, 2023, to January 4, 2024. It is known that 100% of the funds will be used to award study promotion scholarships to disadvantaged students and families under preferential treatment policies during the campaign.
