On June 8, the Institute of Applied Sciences at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) collaborated with the U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC) to organize a seminar titled "US Dairy Ingredients - Nutritional Solutions and Innovation." This seminar aimed to help students learn about and stay updated on the latest trends in food processing technology, encouraging them to apply their knowledge and creativity not only in food production but also in the dairy industry in general.

Opening the seminar, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Anh, Vice President of the University, shared, "In our training process, HUTECH always aims to connect students with businesses to help them gain early access to the real working environment. On the topic "Functions and Applications of Dairy Ingredients," Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Executive Director of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk), provided an overview of the main ingredients and the basic process involved in dairy production. He also helped students learn about each ingredient, such as milk powder, milk protein, casein, whey protein, and lactose, by analyzing the ingredient ratio table, classification, application, and function of each ingredient in everyday life.

On the topic "Nutritional Benefits of Dairy Protein in Healthy Snack Recipes," Ms. Leslie Bonci, MPH, RD, CSSD, LDN, and owner of the Active Eating Advice website, summarized key points such as the importance and main functions of protein in food, dietary habits and current trends in food consumption, and the proper use of protein for pregnant women. It is known that protein intake is crucial for health, directly affecting physical well-being and work performance. Therefore, choosing protein from milk and healthy snacks helps users increase their nutrient intake while conveniently consuming throughout the day.

During the seminar, Mr. Keith Meyer, Director of Global Ingredients Marketing at USDEC, opened up opportunities for cooperation through a discussion on the topic "US Dairy - Partner for Your Success, Innovation, and Sustainability." The speakers also answered students' questions clearly and specifically.

Also at the seminar, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tho and Ms. Huynh Kim Phung, lecturers in Food Technology, shared the process of producing snacks supplemented with American dairy protein, featuring two products: "High-Protein Cereal Bars" and "High-Protein Spirulina Cookies." These products were produced and packaged by the teachers and students of the Institute of Applied Sciences themselves.
