These last few days, the campus of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) has been rather exciting with scenes of crowds of students regularly gathering around. Those are the “quick meetings” aimed at making gifts for the children and families with impoverished backgrounds to help them celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is an occasion for family reunion, but not everyone can afford to play and enjoy the festival with mooncakes and warm lanterns. Understanding those hardships, the students at HUTECH have banded together to bring the festivity, sweetness, and warmth of the Mid-Autumn Festival to various regions in Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces to help light up the moonlit night.
The meaningful program for the Mid-Autumn Festival organized by the students of the Economics and Finance Department at HUTECH has reached the students at Vam Sat elementary school (Can Gio District)
On October 1, the students from the Economics and Finance Department reached Vam Sat elementary school (in Ly Nhon, Can Gio district) along with various meaningful gifts for the students here. A happy Mid-Autumn Festival for the stuidents at Vam Sat elementary school, brought to them by the teachers and students at HUTECH.
Along with the first days of the week when everyone was excited while waiting for the annual Festival for the Communist Youths on September 24 and 25, the freshmen and students at the Institute of Applied Sciences at HUTECH worked together to make handmade mooncakes under the guidance of Huynh Kim Phung, MA - a teacher of the Institute. Upon completion, the students wrapped the fragrant and delicious mooncakes, added decorations, and gifted them to the teachers, the janitors, and security guards - the silent “heroes” who always accompany them to create a positive, friendly and safe environment for their studies.

With the star-shaped lanterns, paper lanterns, handmade lanterns, along with gifts such as biscuits, handmade notebooks and other activities to celebrate the festival like making sand paintings and performances,… The Mid-Autumn Festival for the children became vivid and warm alongside the enthusiastic students from HUTECH.

Another Mid-Autumn Festival has passed, and the warmth from the students of HUTECH was shared with families and children with disadvantageous backgrounds. This will not only be meaningful and entertaining event for the community, but it will also be a wonderful memory for the students during their blossoming youth while still on campus.
