English-majored students prepare to conquer their careers with meaningful internships

In order to provide career preparation for students, the English Faculty of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) has created opportunities for final-year students to practice at reputable enterprises and units with many attractive career positions.

For this internship program, students of the Faculty of English Language - HUTECH can choose either 1  of 03 majors: English Language Teaching, Translation and Interpretation, and English for Business - Tourism. This 2-month-long internship will provide students with practical job experience, necessary skills and good behavior in a modern business environment.

HUTECH English-majored students experience their internship program in 2 months

Specifically, the students specialized in English Language Teaching have practiced their profession at primary schools, secondary schools or English language centers in Ho Chi Minh City and some nearby provinces. This internship allows students to get first-hand experience of working as a classroom teacher, a teaching assistant as well as program coordinator.  They then can learn about the workflow of English teachers in different educational institutions in order to improve teaching method and pedagogical skills.

Students will participate in professional training and work directly to accumulate work experience.

As for the students majoring in Translation - Interpretation, INTER-PROTRANS International Professional Interpreter Co., Ltd. is the "meeting place" for them to practice practically the translator's work in the future. Through the work like notarized translation, translating technical documents, translating videos, using Trados application and looking for translation and translation jobs, HUTECH students have shown their adaptability as well as forging more skills needed for future work.

This will be a practical experience, helping students to understand the business environment and confidently apply in the future.

For the students majoring in English for Business - Tourism, they will have hands-on experience in the fields of import-export, business, hotel-restaurant services at reputable companies and companies. In an environment where English is the main language to communicate, English students have "tried" and improved their foreign language communication, while acquiring a lot of experience such as how to handle and solve jobs efficiently and quickly.

With a package of experience from two months of internship in enterprises, HUTECH students will be more confident when integrating with the human resources market in the 4.0 era. This is a complete preparation step, providing opportunities to access and find a job. This is the ideal direction for HUTECH English language students after completing their studies at the University so that they are ready to challenge themselves on the path of their favorite career.
