On March 19, 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) worked with the University of Nebraska - Lincoln to discuss student exchanges which would offer a myriad of future opportunities for students to experience an international study environment.
Representatives of HUTECH included Assoc. Prof. Bui Xuan Lam - Vice Chairman; Dr. Ly Thien Trang - Vice President; Dr. Nguyen Chi Thang - Vice Director in charge of the Institute of International Education; Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong - Vice Director of the Institute of International Education. For the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, there were Dr. Laurie A. Miller - Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and Curriculum, Office of the Dean Blayne Sharpe - Director of International Recruitment, and Office of Admissions Global Affairs Katia Duszenko - International Recruitment Specialist, Office of Admissions.

During the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong briefly introduced HUTECH, training programs of the Institute of International Education, academic and extracurricular activities, career opportunities, etc. Also, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Xuan Lam mentioned sending HUTECH students to the U.S. to join the IT major, international training programs, tuition fees, etc. in addition to receiving international students to study at HUTECH for one semester free of charge.

Furthermore, the University of Nebraska - Lincoln’s representatives made a short presentation about their university, which is a world-class prestigious institution with 25,000 students, ranking 38th in undergraduate level training and 6th in the field of Biology, etc. As a result, the university desired to partner with HUTECH to mutually exchange students and do scientific research in the future. Ultimately, the meeting ended with many promising opportunities for both universities to experience a long-term and sustainable collaboration.
