On March 20, 2024, the Institute of International Education of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) had a meeting with Union University of California (UUC) to officially sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), creating for students a myriad of promising learning and knowledge exchange opportunities with international experts.
The signing ceremony took place at Saigon Campus
Representatives of UUC included Prof. Nguyen Xuan Son - Founder cum Chief Operating Officer and Prof. Philip Nguyen - Chief Executive Officer. For HUTECH, there were Dr. Ly Thien Trang - Vice President of HUTECH; Dr. Nguyen Chi Thang - Vice Director in charge of the Institute of International Education; and Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong - Vice Director of the Institute of International Education.

At the meeting, Dr. Ly Thien Trang briefly introduced HUTECH’s training programs, facilities, and international cooperation programs of the Faculties/Institutes. Currently, the Institute of International Education is primarily focusing on collaboration with businesses and internationalization in teaching. Particularly, students can experience an international learning environment in many foreign countries according to the models 2+2 or short-term Study Tour as well as learn from native lecturers here in Vietnam.

Both universities were signing MoU
Union University of California (UUC) is known as the first online university in the U.S., thus HUTECH aspired to work with UUC to better its online learning system and digital transformation in education. Also, UUC emphasized their wish to co-organize future workshops, talk shows, seminars, etc., facilitating students in the development of their mindset and entrepreneurship while creating more learning opportunities with international experts for students. Ultimately, both universities signed the MoU based on their common objectives and orientations for development.
