On March 12, 2024, Institute of International Education of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held an opening ceremony of the student exchange program with Marquette University.
It is known that Marquette is a Catholic and Jesuit university located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, that offers more than 80 majors in its nationally and internationally recognized colleges and schools. Furthermore, the university aspires to be, and to be recognized, among the most innovative and accomplished Catholic and Jesuit universities in the world, promoting the greater glory of God and the well-being of humankind. Also, Marquette graduates will be problem-solvers and agents for change in a complex world so in the spirit of St. Ignatius and Jacques Marquette, they are ready in every way "to go and set the world on fire."
The opening ceremony took place at Saigon Campus
Representatives of Marquette University included Prof. Jamshid Hosseini - Professor Emeritus of Management International Business, Dr. Alexander Milovic - Associate Director, Center for Professional Selling, and undergraduate students of different majors. For HUTECH, there were Dr. Ly Thien Trang - Vice President, Dr. Nguyen Chi Thang - Vice Director in charge of Institute of International Education, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong - Vice Director of Institute of International Education, Ms. Dinh Hai Yen - Director of the Center of International Cooperation, Dr. Hoang Ngoc Nhung - Head of the Office International Project Management - Commercialization.

During the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong briefly introduced HUTECH as well as some unique features of Vietnamese culture and people to both lecturers and students of Marquette University.

This will be a precious opportunity for HUTECH students to make friends with international students, helping them have a deeper insight into cultures of various global countries, enhance language skills, integration skills, and learn thinking mindsets and problem-solving skills from international students.
