On May 5th, the International Training Institute of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) met and worked with the Education Office of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City. Thereby, the two units exchanged information about cooperative programs to facilitate learning and cultural exchange for students.
The reception and working session with the Education Office of the Malaysian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City took place at the Saigon Campus.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Education Office of the Malaysian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, including Dr. Azriey Mazlan - Education Consultant, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhiem - Education Administration Assistant. Representing HUTECH were Dr. Nguyen Thuy Hong Van - Director of the Institute of International Training and Dr. Hoang Ngoc Nhung - Deputy Director.

At the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Thuy Hong Van presented an overview of HUTECH and the international training programs.Specific mention was made of the partners in Malaysia with whom HUTECH is currently working with; the National University of Malaysia (UKM), the University of Technology Malaysia (UTP), and the University of Technology of the University of Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS),etc. Based on the similarities in goals and the orientation in respect to development, the two units discussed upcoming opportunities for cooperation..
The two units came together to exchange information about cooperative programs.
Specifically, Dr. Azriey Mazlan said that the Consulate General of Malaysia would award scholarships to excellent students with high achievement and proficiency in English. In addition, the Consulate General of Malaysia also organizes cultural exchange and experience-sharing sessions for students who wish to participate in a study program in Malaysia.
The Consulate General actively supports and creates opportunities for HUTECH students to study in Malaysia.
In addition to the information exchanged, Dr. Nguyen Thuy Hong Van also expressed her desire to find scholarship programs for Master's and Doctoral degrees for staff and lecturers at HUTECH, which would provide them with the opportunity to study in Malaysia.
The content of the program for lecturers and staff was also of interest to the two units.
The initial working session with the Education Office of the Malaysian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City opened up the prospect of long-term cooperation in the future between HUTECH and Malaysian partners, promising to bring many learning and research opportunities for HUTECH students and lecturers.
The meeting opened up attractive programs for cooperation for both HUTECH students and lecturers.
The Consulate General of Malaysia and HUTECH are expected to soon organize "Open Malaysia Day" to create opportunities for students to experience and better understand Malaysian culture.
