On November 30, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) had a meeting and signed a cooperation agreement with Meiho University (MU).
On behalf of MU, there were the presence of Prof. Vuong Kien Dai-President; Mr. Luu Trung Chi-Chairman of BOD and his wife, Ms. Hoang Tuoc; Prof. Co Nguyen Quang-Dean of the Faculty of Food Nutrition; Assoc. Prof. Lam Tieu Tang-Head of the Department of International Cooperation; and Mr. Tran Hoa Hien-Education Counselor at Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in HCMC.

Welcoming Meiho delegation on behalf of HUTECH were Dr. Kieu Tuan-Secretary of the Party Committee, Standing Committee of the university council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Xuan Lam-Vice Chairman of the university council; Dr. Kieu Thi Van Anh-Dean of the Faculty of Chinese Studies; Dr. Huynh Bich Ngoc-Vice Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Nguyen Le Ha-Director of the Institute of Applied Science; Mr. Nguyen Duy Tai-Vice Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Medical Laboratory; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Tho-Faculty’s Advisor.
At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Xuan Lam sent his gratitude to the MU delegation. “The economic and cultural cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Taiwan has been developing very strongly in recent times, especially in the field of education. HUTECH always looks forward to having cooperative relationships with universities in Taiwan, opening up new opportunities for students,” shared Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Xuan Lam.

The two universities introduced the history of formation, development process, vision and future educational orientations. At the same time, representatives of the two universities discussed future cooperation plans.
Based on the similarity of educational orientations, HUTECH and MU officially signed the MOU. Accordingly, the two universities will create favorable conditions for students of both sides to have practical study programs and exchange study programs. Particularly, students participating in the exchange programs will be completely exempted from the exchange semester's tuition fees. The two universities also have agreements towards the exchange of lecturers and experts. Mr. Tran Hoa Hien also said that Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in HCMC will support scholarships for HUTECH lecturers and students participating in the exchange programs.
The MOU signing with MU has opened up many learning and research opportunities for HUTECH lecturers and students in the coming time. This is the door that opens up many opportunities for students of both sides to study and experience as well as tightens Vietnam-Taiwan relations in the future.
