ASTRACT
Urban housing construction is a crucial facet of global urban development, with Vietnam as no exception. However, residential buildings are significant contributors to energy consumption and climate change. Inadequate attention to environmental adaptability in urban Vietnamese homes results in compromised thermal comfort, increased energy uses due to heavy reliance on air conditioning, and heightened carbon emissions, exacerbating the global warming crisis. The core issue lies in the limited exploration of bioclimatic solutions in architectural design and building envelopes tuned to the local climate. Traditional architectural practices offer valuable insights into harmonizing human habitats with the surrounding environment. Adapting these principles is essential for creating sustainable, culturally resonant housing solutions in contemporary urban contexts. This study consolidates fundamental principles of environmental adaptability from traditional architecture and proposes strategies for their application in modern Vietnamese housing design. By bridging conventional wisdom with contemporary housing needs, this research aims to develop residential spaces that honor cultural identity and address environmental challenges faced by urban areas in Vietnam and beyond.

ABSTRACT
Enhancing the aesthetic and safety of the sidewalk in Ho Chi Minh City involves addressing various problems and challenges. The recent reinforcement on street stationery fee proposed by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport on June 2023 charging street vendors for stationery items on the sidewalk, particularly threatening the livability of the walking street around colonial-era building remnants with spacious sidewalks and beautiful cultural heritage facades. To understand the impact of this ongoing reinforcement on the landscape of building from the colonial period, this study survey the situation of street food stands and vendors around the colonial-era school located in District 1 and 3, where the daily scene of pupils gathering around the street food stands is part of the city familiar landscape that is on the verge of disappearing. The study outcome provides insight into the side effects of the ongoing debate on the new reinforcement and the urban development of Ho Chi Minh in terms of enhancing the streetscape and walkable streets for its inhabitants.

ABSTRACT
In Vietnam, traditional architecture stands as an indispensable facet of the nation's cultural legacy, making the application of photogrammetry a vital tool for safeguarding and reviving these historical edifices. This paper presents a case study that employs photogrammetry for surveying ancient pagoda structures, with an emphasis on the pivotal role these edifices play in Vietnamese society and culture. The study elucidates the advantages and constraints of photogrammetry within the realm of architectural survey, especially in the context of heritage preservation endeavors.
The paper underscores the significance of conserving traditional architecture and the profound cultural importance of pagoda buildings in Vietnam. Beyond serving as places of worship, these structures serve as community hubs and embody Vietnamese identity. The meticulous measurements and intricate depictions of pagoda structures and designs rendered by the photogrammetric method prove indispensable for documentation, planning, and the restoration of heritage buildings. The study also addresses the challenges associated with utilizing photogrammetry in surveying ancient pagoda structures, including the requisites of specialized equipment, expertise, and software.
In sum, this paper underscores the pivotal role of photogrammetry in surveying and conservation. The precision and comprehensive 3D models yielded by photogrammetry supply invaluable data for researchers, architects, and conservationists dedicated to preserving Vietnam's cultural heritage.

ABSTRACT
Vietnam is the leading country in urbanization in Southeast Asia. Urbanization helps attract investors and tourists to visit big cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Besides economic and cultural benefits, the urbanization process also brings significant environmental and landscape consequences. One of the few issues mentioned about environmental pollution is noise pollution. Every day, we are constantly stressed with sounds from the city, this gradual increase in sound will affect our physical and mental health. Landscape sound design is a new, practical direction in creating a positive sound environment in the heart of the city, increasing the urban experience for everyone, taking advantage of natural sounds, and reducing sound. Artificial bars have bad effects. The article focuses on introducing soundscapes through research lessons around the world, thereby orienting the application, approach and development of soundscape projects in the heart of the city for urban areas in Vietnam.

Email: ncn.thuy@hutech.edu.vn
Abstract
Cross-cultural is the process of exchange, interaction, and integration between values, conceptions, art, language, and other cultural elements between different groups, communities, or countries. Through this process, traditional cultural elements from different groups, communities or countries can be combined, adapted and changed, creating a diversity of intertwined cultures. Vietnamese culture, especially Ho Chi Minh City has a cultural background that has had a process of receiving and transforming the values of other cultures in the region and the world along with the indigenous identities. The culture of Ho Chi Minh City has been evolving through many eras: Pristine, Explored, French Colonial, Saigon City, Ho Chi Minh City, of which French colonization was the most influential period of cultural acculturation in aspects such as language, writing, human lifestyle, art, architecture, and especially religious architecture. The Church of St. Francis Xavier is a clear example of this.

ABSTRACT
The civilization of Indochine in the Middle Ages 1009-1407, specifically the sub-region of Northern Vietnam (Bac Bo) is located at the intersection of two large cultural hemispheres, in which the influence factor from East Asia is often expressed directly; Overwhelming the expressions of the influence of South Asia entering from the West and being equated with the form of indigenous architecture. The achievements of religion, art, and Indian materials were present earlier in the geographical region of the North, but their legacy that exists in smaller scale architectures is a typical phenomenon worth exploiting and studying. This study examines 21 archaeological findings from 10 architectural sites on the detailed component of roof decoration sculptures in the set historical period, to clarify the formal characteristics and distribution trends of them in the context of cultural shift from West to East.
