Students of the Faculty of Management Information Systems participated in a seminar about ChatGPT and AI platforms

On February 18th, the Department of Science and Technology - Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a seminar "ChatGPT and AI platforms: Advantages and Limitations in Education and Science”.
The seminar drew attention to a large number of lecturers and students
Speakers at the seminar were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoai - Director of the Vietnam Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Le Thi Ngoc Tho - Lecturer of HUTECH Faculty of Information Technology, and Mr. George Nguyen - Co-founder of TBLabs and JDI One.

At the seminar, Dr. Le Thi Ngoc Tho gave a presentation on "Chatbots and Search Engines". Dr. Le gave an overview of search engines and chatbots along with their applications. Then she compared and pointed out development opportunities as well as challenges in the current context.

Also at the seminar, Mr. George Nguyen shared about VoiceGPT - a product developed based on ChatGPT's platform. VoiceGPT allows users to create online VoiceGPT accounts using email and phone numbers in Vietnam. Besides communicating with AI in writing, users can also use their voice with VoiceGPT.

Furthermore, attendees had access to various new information about "ChatGPT and the Future of Generative AI" through the sharing of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoai. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen presented brief information about ChatGPT, the technique of building large language models (LLM) and ChatGPT, the prospect of ChatGPT and Generative AI, etc.

Attendees exchanged and posed questions about the application in Science and Technology
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoai said that ChatGPT and other generative AI will change the way of assessing students' academic performance in education. In the future, tests on memorizing knowledge will be replaced by tests that require critical thinking.
