1. Functions
The Department of Science and Technology is a unit under the Board of Rectors, with the function of advising and assisting the Principal in scientific research works of staff, lecturers, employees and learners (students and graduates) as well as performing scientific research tasks in the University according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
2. Duties
- Develop a plan for Science and Technology (S&T) activities according to the direction of the University.
- Develop and submit to the Board of Rectors for promulgation the regulations on management of S&T activities of the University.
- Manage, monitor and inspect organizations and individuals performing scientific and technological tasks (scientific research topics, projects at all levels, conferences, scientific seminars at home and abroad).
- Coordinate with related units, preside over the organization of domestic and international scientific seminars and conferences at the University level and to collect, review and propose rewards for collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the field of S&T activities.
- Organize and manage scientific research activities of learners.
- Edit, review, publish, archive scientific documents in the University and exchange with agencies outside the University on the field of S&T.
- Manage the journal publication tasks and S&T news of the University.
- Manage work and activities related to intellectual property and S&T transfer.
- Coordinate with the University Office of Administration and Department of Finance in managing and using scientific research funds.
- Advise on the transfer of scientific research results into production and commercialization practices.
In addition, Department of Science and Technology also performs the following tasks:
- Calculate and evaluate the conversion of annual scientific activity hours of the staff, teachers and employees within the University.
- Support participation in exhibitions on science and technology, specialized activities on science and technology in the School and other organizations.
- Support the work of evaluating the standards for the title of Professor and Associate Professor for the University's Council of Professors.
- Coordinate the management and confirmation of scientific records of staff, teachers and employees in the University.
- Coordinate with units to draft cooperation content, memorandums of understanding, joint contracts and documents on international topics/projects.
- Build and develop websites, softwares and S&T management systems.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Board of Rectors.
