HUTECH partners with Emerald Publishing and iGroup Vietnam to boost scientific research development

On September 12, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) hosted a meeting with Emerald Publishing and iGroup Vietnam to explore new collaborative opportunities in scientific research.

The meeting with Emerald Publishing and iGroup Vietnam took place at Saigon Campus

The HUTECH representatives at the meeting were:
- Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Development and Integration (JDI)
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Viet, Head of the Science and Technology Department
- Mr. Hoang Ngoc Tuan, Library Director

Representing the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF) were:
- Dr. Ngo Minh Hai, Vice President
- Dr. Nguyen Thanh Luan, Deputy Head of the Science and Technology and International Project Department

The partner delegation included Ms. Serena Tsai, Senior Manager for the Taiwan and Vietnam Region, and Ms. Nguyen Thuy Linh, Project Director and Higher Education Account Manager at iGroup Vietnam.

During the meeting, Ms. Serena Tsai presented two successful journal models in Vietnam: the Journal of Asian Economic and Business Studies (JABES) from Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and the Journal of Economics and Development from the National Economics University. These examples were used to guide the development of the Journal of Development and Integration. Additionally, by partnering with Emerald, readers of the Journal of Development and Integration will gain access to an official scientific database and international standard submission system.

As part of the meeting, both sides discussed the advantages of linking publications with the Journal of Development and Integration and explored future opportunities for collaboration in scientific research.

The meeting opens up numerous prospects for expanded cooperation at HUTECH and UEF, particularly for the Journal of Development and Integration. With support from Emerald Publishing and iGroup Vietnam, this collaboration aims to enhance the quality of scientific research for both institutions.

Emerald is a leading publisher in business and administration, renowned globally for its reference databases that support researchers and development experts in science and technology, contributing significantly to sustainable development goals. iGroup Vietnam is a major provider of information services, specializing in electronic databases, e-books, electronic teaching curricula, and library automation solutions.
