On March 29, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) had the honor of welcoming a delegation from the Consulate General of Hungary in Ho Chi Minh City and John von Neumann University (JvNU), Hungary, for a working session and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This milestone marks a significant step toward internationalizing education and expanding postgraduate programs.

During the ceremony, Mr. Habib Kohi, Head of the International Cooperation Office at JvNU, expressed his gratitude to the Consulate General of Hungary for facilitating this collaboration. He highlighted the strong spirit of partnership and the potential for future academic growth. On behalf of HUTECH, Dr. Ly Thien Trang, Vice President, extended her appreciation to the representatives from both JvNU and the Consulate General. She reaffirmed HUTECH’s commitment to fostering international academic cooperation, particularly in response to the growing demand for globalized education.

Dr. László Tóth, Head of the Polymer Technology Research Group and Senior Associate Professor at JvNU’s Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, provided an overview of the university’s key postgraduate programs. Notably, JvNU specializes in Green Mobility, offering courses in Additive Manufacturing, CAD/CAM Design, Alternative Engine Engineering, Polymer Processing Technology, Computer Programming, Fuel Cells, and Hydrogen Technology. These programs are designed with a practice-oriented approach, closely integrating industry partnerships and modern technology.

The representative from the Consulate General of Hungary in Ho Chi Minh City also showed interest in the academic partnership between the two universities
Both universities discussed potential areas of cooperation, including the development of master’s programs with flexible structures regarding thesis requirements, admission criteria, and tuition fees. Internship opportunities for HUTECH students in Hungary were also explored, promising valuable international exposure and hands-on experience.
Furthermore, the two institutions discussed various partnership models, such as joint academic programs and dual-degree initiatives, aiming to enhance student mobility and academic exchange.

The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Hidasi Eszter Zsófia, Deputy Consul General, and Ms. Zsófia Mosonyi, Economic and Trade Attaché, from the Consulate General of Hungary in Ho Chi Minh City. Representing John von Neumann University were Mr. Habib Kohi, Head of the International Cooperation Office, and Dr. László Tóth, Head of the Polymer Technology Research Group.
