HUTECH appeared on the US News & World Best Global Universities ranking
HUTECH secured 12th place among Vietnamese universities on Webometrics
According to the URAP global rankings, HUTECH ranked 8th among 23 Vietnamese universities with notable academic achievements. It also placed 3rd among 45 Vietnamese universities and research institutions for research capacity on the SCImago rankings. Globally, HUTECH was listed among the top 2,250 universities and ranked 413th in Engineering in the 2024–2025 US News & World Best Global Universities ranking. Additionally, it ranked 12th out of 190 Vietnamese universities, 667th in Asia, and 2,230th globally, as per the July 2024 Webometrics rankings.
These accomplishments underscore HUTECH’s dedication to excellence in education and research, reinforcing its role as a leading higher education institution in Vietnam and beyond.

2. Enhancing Contributions to Science, Technology, and Sustainability
In 2024, HUTECH strengthened its position as a hub for knowledge and technology transfer with several significant achievements. In September, HUTECH was recognized as one of the 10 founding members of the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) in Ho Chi Minh City, demonstrating its commitment to the city’s and the nation’s development. In October, the university successfully completed the “Digitalization of the Ho Chi Minh Museum – Ho Chi Minh City Branch” project, showcasing its innovative approach to fostering a digital-age culture. HUTECH also became the 9th Vietnamese university to join the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), emphasizing its dedication to promoting sustainable development.

The university organized key events such as the Young Scientists Conference, the 2024 Science and Technology Conference, the Social Sciences and Language Conference, IT Got Talent, and the semi-finals of the 2024 Euréka Student Research Award.
Three projects in Philosophy, Economics, and Information & Computing Sciences were approved for funding by the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED), further enabling impactful research to benefit the community.
3. Faculty Recognized with Prestigious Awards
One of HUTECH’s proud accomplishments in 2024 was the recognition of its faculty at esteemed awards. Dr. Phung Van Phuc received the Nguyen Van Dao Award, the most prestigious honor in Mechanics, for his exceptional contributions to scientific research. He was also honored at the Vietnam Global Leaders Forum in Paris, France. Mr. Le Hong Hieu, Vice Director of the Institute of Engineering, was named Outstanding Educator of Vietnam 2024. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, a lecturer in the Faculty of Information Technology, was recognized as Outstanding Young Educator of Ho Chi Minh City 2024 for his remarkable contributions to education.

Students had opportunities to engage directly with business leaders and employers through various programs, including seminars, talk shows, workshops, and initiatives like Dialogues with CEOs, Career Days, IT Open Day, TECHSHOW, and International Job Fairs. Specific events like the Japan Job Fair, Korea Job Fair, and sector-specific graduation and career fairs further connected students with industry professionals. These activities offered valuable career opportunities and practical experiences, addressing the demand of hundreds of companies for high-quality human resources.
5. Strengthening Accreditation and Educational Quality
HUTECH reached new milestones in accreditation by successfully completing external evaluations for four undergraduate programs under AUN-QA standards. These programs included Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, and Multimedia Communications.

- Public Relations student Do Thi Thu Hien emerged victorious among hundreds of competitors, winning the prestigious Gold Award at the 2024 En Sinh Vien Competition.
- The CLICK - K DANCE CREW impressed judges and audiences alike, earning the championship title at the Dance of Youth 2024 Festival.
- JAEGER SQUAD showcased their talent by securing the Silver Medal in the Dance Battle category at VUG 2024.
- In addition, Marketing and International Business student Đinh Dương Bảo Huy achieved recognition as the 4th Runner-Up at Mister Cosmopolitan 2024.

Showcasing talent on prestigious arts and sports stages
In sports, Nguyen Truc Phuong stood out by winning nine medals at the 2024 National Artistic Gymnastics Championship. HUTECH achieved double victories at the 2024 RMIT Open Volleyball Tournament. The university also claimed second place overall at the Taekwondo HUTECH Cup Open 2024. Furthermore, HUTECH students earned nine medals at the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City Student Vovinam Championship.

The event featured leading figures in virtual reality technology and the creative industries, including François Serre, Founder of Prenez Du Relief; Myke Brown, Founder of Infinite Reality Studio & X3D Studio; Tran Hoang Hai, Producer at LumiGrade; Morgan Ommer, Founder of Little Odyssey and Director of Madame Pirate; and Nguyen Duc Toan, Media, Digital & Advocacy Manager at SABECO.

The event offered a variety of activities, such as exploring AR-integrated artworks with NFTs, watching Virtual Reality (VR) films, and experiencing collections of Animation films, AI-produced content, 3D films, and AR films. Students also engaged in interactive experiences, including posing and capturing photos with 360-camera technology. This event enriched students' understanding of technology, media, and artificial intelligence, sparking their creativity to thrive in the evolving media and entertainment landscape.

These included AI Assistant training, sessions on utilizing AI for innovation, a seminar on the legal and ethical implications of AI, a workshop on creating game applications using Blockchain and AI, and a seminar titled "IoT → Data → AI: Decoding the Digital Future." These efforts are designed to streamline workflows, enhance processes, and optimize overall efficiency in both educational and administrative operations.
