On December 12, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) hosted a working session with representatives from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) in Malaysia. The discussion centered on exploring collaboration opportunities in higher education and expanding the potential for strategic partnerships in international education and research.
The meeting began with both sides providing an overview of their respective institutions. Representing UPSI, Mr. Sasigaran Moneyam, Executive Director of CAPEU, introduced the Consortium of Asia-Pacific Education Universities (CAPEU), a regional network promoting educational collaboration in the Asia-Pacific. He highlighted the benefits of CAPEU, including enhanced academic exchange, opportunities for multilateral research collaboration, and the establishment of connections with leading universities in the region.
Representatives from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) at the meeting HUTECH expressed strong interest in CAPEU and indicated that it would consider joining the network in the near future. Membership in CAPEU promises to create significant international development opportunities for both faculty and students, thereby contributing to improved educational quality at HUTECH.
Both parties discuss research and English teaching collaboration
A key focus of the meeting was the potential for collaboration in multi-disciplinary and multi-field research and teaching. Prof. Dr. Ramlee Bin Ismail, Director of International and Mobility Center at UPSI, and representative from HUTECH agreed that this area offers considerable opportunities for partnership and growth. Initial plans include organizing short-term courses, faculty exchange programs, and joint research projects related to English teaching and learning. These initiatives are expected to deliver practical value by fostering high-quality human resources to meet business demands in a globalized context.

The session concluded with both parties agreeing to continue exchanging information to finalize agreements and implement specific collaborative activities in the future.
