At the 1st Annual International Open Innovation Conference, held at VinUniversity from December 6-7, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung, Director of the Vietnam-Japan Institute of Technology (VJIT) at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), participated as a presenter.

The conference was jointly organized by VinUniversity, the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam, the Saïd Business School at University of Oxford, the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, and the Duke Center for International Development. With the theme “Innovation for a Green Future,” the event served as an open platform for leaders, policymakers, scholars, scientists, and experts to introduce pioneering ideas and solutions aimed at building a sustainable future across fields such as healthcare, education, hospitality, industry, agriculture, and infrastructure.

At the event, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung presented his paper titled "Empowering Students to Be Ready for a Sustainable Economy through the Project Design Curriculum." His presentation highlighted two main points: (1) the role of universities in equipping students with essential skills and mindsets to adapt to a sustainable economy and become potential drivers of future change, and (2) the implementation of the Project Design curriculum at HUTECH to enhance students’ abilities to identify and solve problems, assess market needs, and propose innovative ideas, thereby contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In addition to presenting and participating in discussions, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung attended other sessions, including presentations by keynote speakers and an exchange with the winners of the 2024 VinFuture Prize. This offered him a valuable opportunity to gain insights into breakthrough ideas related to sustainable development, laying the groundwork for continued innovation in curricula at VJIT and HUTECH to create greater practical value for students and the wider community.
This was also an opportunity for him to engage in knowledge sharing and dialogue with the winners of the 2024 VinFuture Prize
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung’s participation as a presenter at the 1st Annual International Open Innovation Conference is not only an honor for him but also a significant milestone for HUTECH.
