HUTECH signs MoA with China Medical University: A new milestone in medical education and research

On December 6, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with China Medical University (CMU). This event marked a significant milestone in the international partnership between the two institutions, opening up numerous opportunities for comprehensive collaboration in medical education and research.
During the meeting, representatives from both universities exchanged their visions, missions, and areas of expertise. HUTECH reaffirmed its position as a multidisciplinary university in Vietnam with a strategy to expand international cooperation, especially in health sciences. Meanwhile, CMU emphasized its leading role in Taiwan's medical education, having trained many healthcare professionals and leaders.

Another important topic of discussion was the plan for CMU to send a delegation of faculty and students to Vietnam in mid-2025. The visit is expected to include academic exchanges, professional seminars, cultural interactions, and field trips to HUTECH’s campuses and major hospitals. This initiative aims to foster mutual learning, deepen cultural understanding, and lay the groundwork for further collaboration.
The two universities also discused future collaborations in medical education, focusing on rehabilitation medicine, physical therapy, pharmacy, and nursing. Both sides agreed to continue detailed discussions to prepare for the signing of specific agreements in June 2025. This preparation is crucial for developing high-quality medical education programs that meet the demand for healthcare professionals not only in Vietnam and Taiwan but also across the region.

Representing HUTECH at the event were Dr. Ly Thien Trang - Vice President, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Director of CIRTECH Institute of Technology, Dr. Nguyen Phuong Tung - Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Medical Laboratory Technology, Ms. Nguyen Thi Duc Hanh - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong - Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations and Project Management, and Dr. Hoang Ngoc Nhung - Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations and Project Management. Representing CMU were Prof. Dr. Li-Wei Chou - Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy and the Graduate Institute of Rehabilitation Science.
