HUTECH and the University of Bolton (UK) engage in discussions to enhance collaborative partnerships

On November 7th, the Department of International Relations and Project Management of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a formal meeting with the University of Bolton (United Kingdom), engaging in in-depth discussions on potential opportunities for educational collaboration and student exchange programs between the two institutions.
 
The meeting began with an introduction to the HUTECH Education System and the Institute of International Education, presented by Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations and Project Management. In her presentation, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong emphasized HUTECH’s extensive progress in building an international network of academic partnerships and reiterated its dedication to educational excellence and robust student support services.

As part of her remarks, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong provided a detailed overview of HUTECH’s English-language programs and the Buddy program, designed to facilitate the academic and cultural integration of international students. She also highlighted HUTECH’s openness to hosting students from the University of Bolton and fostering cross-cultural exchange and academic collaboration.

Dr. Nguyen Chi Thang, Director of the Institute of International Education, expanded on these efforts by detailing HUTECH’s ongoing academic partnerships with universities such as the University of Lincoln and Open University Malaysia (OUM).

The University of Bolton shared its criteria for partner engagement, emphasizing quality, scale, and alignment in collaborative programs. Bolton representatives commended HUTECH’s demonstrated ability to host international students and its proactive development of diverse exchange initiatives, noting their appeal to Bolton’s student community and their potential to strengthen institutional ties.

Dr. Nguyen Chi Thang proposed several key areas for collaboration, including TESOL, Computer Science, and Marketing, emphasizing the strong alignment between the TESOL Master’s programs at both institutions as a promising avenue for deeper cooperation.

Both parties reached an agreement to further explore collaboration on Transnational Education (TNE), identifying the TESOL Master’s program as a focal point. The meeting not only underscored significant opportunities for academic partnerships but also laid the groundwork for the expansion of student exchange programs.
