HUTECH explores academic collaboration with Macao University of Tourism

On October 25, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a meeting with the Macao University of Tourism (UTM), China, to discuss academic collaboration and student exchange opportunities.
 
Representing HUTECH was Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations and Project Management. UTM was represented by Dr. Ly Tuan Phong, Program Coordinator of Heritage and Cultural Management, and Ms. Sabina Sales Lei, Senior Administrative Officer.
 
The meeting began with introductions to each institution's academic programs. UTM highlighted its specialized programs in tourism and hospitality, emphasizing their relevance to HUTECH students' needs.

In discussing academic cooperation, UTM emphasized program compatibility, offering opportunities for HUTECH students to study at UTM. Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong proposed collaborative programs, research projects, and a doctoral program for faculty. HUTECH also suggested a credit-recognized student exchange, focusing on critical thinking, time management, and design thinking.

On administrative matters, Ms. Huong requested details on tuition and visa requirements and proposed a cultural exchange program for five UTM students in Vietnam, with a reciprocal plan for five HUTECH students to study in Macao.

In discussing doctoral and research programs, UTM presented Macao as a global tourism hub, attracting students in tourism and hospitality with a faculty from 16 countries and a strong international network. UTM also shared information on its Master’s and Ph.D. programs in hospitality, tourism, marketing, and healthcare, and announced scholarships for Vietnamese students in 2025.
