In October 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) proudly became the ninth university in Vietnam to join the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), reinforcing its commitment to promoting sustainable development awareness.

This milestone marks a significant step for HUTECH in meeting the "Environmental Sustainability Network Membership" criterion under the QS Stars Rating Methodology version 6.0. Furthermore, it enhances the university's reputation and emphasizes its dedication to advancing sustainable development initiatives.

On October 11, HUTECH representatives met with SDSN officials for the first time to explore potential collaboration opportunities. Key discussions focused on strategies to raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among faculty and staff, and ways to integrate these goals into the university's curriculum. This initiative aims to nurture environmentally and socially responsible graduates. Additionally, SDSN proposed various joint projects, including guest speakers and sustainability-focused courses, to further enhance SDG understanding among both faculty and students.

Joining SDSN provides HUTECH with access to a vast global network and the opportunity to engage in a wide range of activities. These include enhancing education and research related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), conducting policy analysis to offer specific recommendations, and fostering international collaboration to share knowledge and best practices. Through these initiatives, HUTECH is confident that it will not only strengthen its role in promoting sustainable education but also make a meaningful contribution to society's sustainable development.
The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) was established by the United Nations in 2012 with the mission of mobilizing universities, research institutions, and organizations worldwide to develop solutions for sustainable development. Currently, SDSN has over 1,900 members from more than 145 countries, with headquarters in New York, Paris, and Kuala Lumpur. The network focuses on supporting and implementing the SDGs through education, research, and international collaboration.
