In September 2024, representatives from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) attended the closing ceremony of the HaMoNee Project at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg) in Germany. The visit aimed to report on the project's completion and to network and expand relationships with international partners, thereby creating numerous multi-sector collaboration opportunities for the future.
The delegation included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong - Vice President, Dr. Le Dinh Luong - Vice President, and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Hung - Director of the HUTECH Institute of Engineering. Key partners present included Prof. Dr. Peter Wulf - Vice President for Science and International Cooperation; Prof. Dr. Frederike Masemann - Vice President for Education; and Prof. Dr. Dirk Engel - HaMoNee Project Leader.
HUTECH representatives participated in activities during the HaMoNee project wrap-up, strengthening cooperative ties among the universities involved and discussing future collaborative projects in the fields of Automotive Engineering and Mechatronics with HAW Hamburg.

The collaboration between the two universities opens up many opportunities for cultural experiences and learning for faculty and students. It also provides promising prospects for developing training programs in Automotive Engineering, Electric Automotive Technology, and Mechatronics at HUTECH. Given the labor shortage for economic development in Germany, the high-quality workforce trained at HUTECH is expected to supply potential labor to this market.

The “HaMoNee - Hamburg/Hanoi Mobile Engineers” project (01/2021 - 12/2024) was established to facilitate research exchange and collaboration between HAW Hamburg and universities in Vietnam, as well as industry partners from both countries. Through this project, HAW Hamburg aims to enhance the research capacity and application of scientific and technical knowledge among students and faculty in the study and teaching of engineering sciences, laying the groundwork for building sustainable strategic relationships with partners in Vietnam and Asia.
HUTECH has six students participating in the HaMoNee project, who have spent six months studying and living in Hamburg over three semesters. Additionally, several HUTECH experts took part in the project.

During this time, the students attended the academic program within the HaMoNee student exchange project and engaged in various extracurricular activities, making friends and exchanging cultures with international peers.
The HaMoNee project is part of the "HAW International" funding program from DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) to boost the international competitiveness of universities of applied sciences.
Vietnamese partner universities in this project include Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Phenikaa University, University of Transport Technology (UTT), Vietnam-Germany University (VGU), and HUTECH. The project is also supported by Vietnamese industrial partners in the automotive manufacturing sector, including VinFast and Truong Hai Auto Corporation (THACO). |
