On September 25, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the World Economic Forum (WEF) held the inauguration ceremony for the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) proudly serves as a founding member of C4IR, heralding a promising new journey of robust development.
The C4IR in Ho Chi Minh City is situated in the Saigon High-Tech Park and is part of the global network of the World Economic Forum. The center aims to promote research and the application of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, the Internet of Things (IoT), and big data across various economic sectors, particularly in finance and banking. Vietnam is now the second country in Southeast Asia to establish a C4IR, joining Malaysia.
The Prime Minister expresses his confidence and optimism in the C4IR in Ho Chi Minh City
Attending the inauguration ceremony for C4IR in Ho Chi Minh City were Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Phan Van Mai, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, along with leaders from various ministries, government agencies, representatives from the World Economic Forum, and the C4IR of Malaysia.
During the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized six key objectives of the center: implementing the policies on science and technology; fostering innovation; promoting industrialization and modernization; meeting the country’s development needs; facilitating international integration in science and technology; and participating in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The center has ten founding members, which include Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), Saigon High-Tech Park, Viettel Group, Sovico Group, CMC Group, Saigontel, and banks such as Techcombank and HDBank.
