On March 25, the 2021 University and College Admissions Conference organized by the Ministry of Education and Training was held concurrently in four major cities including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Can Tho. HUTECH was honored to be selected as the conference venue in Ho Chi Minh City.
The conference took place virtually at four locations with the participation of leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training, representatives from different universities and colleges across the country. Attending the conference, the participants looked forth to review, discuss, give feedback and reach a consensus on the enrollment and admissions activities in 2021. The conference location in Ho Chi Minh City was presided by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy - Director of Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan - President of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City and Prof. Dr. Sc. Ho Dac Loc - President of HUTECH.

Delivering the opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Minh Son affirmed, “We welcome the ideas and opinions from representatives of different higher education institutions to contribute toward an effective admissions period benefiting both candidates and recruiters, thereby improving the quality of admissions process, training programs as well as human resources in the future.”

During the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy reviewed and commented on the recruitment outcomes of universities and colleges in 2020.

Representatives of universities and colleges along with Heads of various Education and Training departments from provinces and cities throughout the country pointed out predicaments encountered in the implementation of admissions plans and made suggestions for improvement to the 2021 admissions regulations.

Summarizing opinions raised by participating delegates, Prof. Dr. Sc. Ho Dac Loc reported the main contents regarding close collaboration among higher education institutions to maintain and promote the stability of the existing enrollment process for the 2021 admission year; adjusting, optimizing and taking advantage of the information technology and technical mechanisms in supporting the admission and registration process; agreement on the draft regulations allowing candidates to adjust their preferences three times in a predetermined timeframe; agreement on the implementation of the virtual filtering process and the reduction of enrollment fees.

Concluding the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Minh Son - on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Training, received recommendations from the delegates contributed to the proposal of effective solutions catering to the improvement of the admissions regulations in 2021.
