HUTECH and Chung Ang University launch E-Learning class about Korean Studies

On September 13th and 14th, 2019, the Institute of Social Sciences & Humanity of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) and Chung Ang University officially launched an E-learning class about Korean Studies.
The class is a part of the KF Global E-School project sponsored by Korea Foundation (KF). In Vietnam, HUTECH was the first private university to receive this sponsorship.

In the first semester of the 2019-2020 cohort, many experienced professors of the project will support HUTECH to open the subject Society and Culture in Korea for students studying Korean Language and Korean Studies majors. The purpose is to help students understand the Korea’s language, geography, costume and cuisine, politic, economy, society, and international relationship.

The contents of the lectures is divided into16 instructional lessons providing 10 online lectures on Korea-related topics (HUTECH students will interact with lecturers through a specialized application called E-Learning from KF) along with 4 offline programs with a variety of topics through the partnership between Korean and HUTECH.

In the first two days on September 13th and 14th, Dr. Chang Hye, major of Political Science of Southern California University, professor at the Faculty of Political Science of Chung Ang University, and Ms. Chang instructed HUTECH students to experience Korean traditional holidays at the Vietnam - Korean Mid-Autumn Festival - Chuseok Festival. The topic shared in the event was cultural differences between Vietnam and Korea. Especially, the unique features in Korean culture were interestingly and lively presented at the festival, creating a warm atmosphere between students and lecturers from the two different nations. Moreover, HUTECH students would have more chances to directly ask Korean lecturers about the online lessons.

Since 2011, KF Global E-School has successfully launched many subjects such as Korea and Globalization, Korean Model of Political Economy, Society and Culture in Contemporary Korea, Foreign Relations of Korea, Culture and Civilization of Korea, Introduction to Korean Economy, Introduction to Korean Society, and Public Diplomacy in Korean Perspective at several universities in Vietnam including Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and University of Foreign Language Studies - The University of Danang.
