Colorful and vibrant opening ceremony of HUTECH Games 2021

On March 22, the Student Sports Fest of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) - HUTECH Games 2021 - officially opened in a lively atmosphere with the participation of 19 teams of athletes.

Taking place at HUTECH High-Quality Manpower Training Center, the event was attended by representatives of the University’s Board of Directors, Board of Presidents, members of the organizing committee along with faculty, staff, participating athletes, and fans.

Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoang Viet said, "Health is a valuable asset of each person. I hope that today's festival is not only an opportunity for you to connect, but also stimulate the spirit of regular physical training, thereby creating healthy habits and a positive lifestyle". Also at the ceremony, representatives of the referees and athletes took their pledge before the start of HUTECH Games 2021.

Right after the opening ceremony, the first competitions, including Tug of war and Cross Country took place. Also on the opening day, the debut matches of men’s volleyball and men’s basketball were the displays of sportsmanship and competitive spirits among strong rivals making HUTECH Games 2021 truly a festival for sports lovers.
The men’s team of Vietnam - Japan Institute of Technology (VJIT) continued successfully defending the championship title in Tug of war, while the women’s team of Faculty of Business Administration overcame their opponents to become the new champion. On the HUTECH RUN course, nearly 700 athletes completed the women's 3km and men’s 5km in the cheers and applauses of the audiences.

Tug of war - the highlight of the opening day of HUTECH Games 2021 with the competitive matches that look like six of one, half a dozen of the other.
Meanwhile, the reigning champion of men's volleyball - Faculty of Business Administration had a hard opening victory over HUTECH Institute of Engineering with a score of 2 - 1, while the men of HUTECH Institute of Engineering made a favorable debut with a 49 - 31 victory over the International Training Institute.
