- On October 28, 2009, the University was awarded the Third-Class Labor Medal by the President of Vietnam, recognizing the contributions of HUTECH to the Vietnamese education system.
- On April 21, 2010, the HUTECH Youth Union received the Third-Class Labor Medal from the President of Vietnam. This prestigious award recognized their outstanding achievements during the period from 2005 to 2009.

- On March 20, 2013, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the Management Board of Saigon Hi-Tech Park officially issued the investment registration certificate for the HUTECH Institute of High Technology Project with an area of nearly 5 hectares in Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP).

- On August 23, 2013, Dr. Kieu Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the HUTECH Board of Directors, was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the President. This prestigious award recognized his dedicated contributions as an educator to the cause of education.

- On October 19, 2013, Ho Chi Minh City University of Engineering and Technology officially changed its name to Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.

On December 30, 2013, Prof. Dr. Sc. Bui Van Ga, Deputy Minister of MOET, issued Decision No. 6099/QD-BGDDT, approving HUTECH doctoral program in the field of Electrical Engineering.

- On April 14, 2015, HUTECH was approved by the MOET to open the doctoral program in Business Administration.
- On April 26, 2015, HUTECH celebrated its 20 years of establishment (April 26, 1995–April 26, 2015). On this occasion, HUTECH was also honored to be awarded the Second Class Labor Medal by the President.

- In 2022, HUTECH achieved 4 Stars rating from the internationally-renowned higher education ranking organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), affirming its quality education in the journey towards international development.
- In 2024, HUTECH was honored to be granted the Certificate of "Management System for Educational Organizations according to TCVN ISO 21001:2019/ ISO 21001:2018" from the Vietnam Certification Center (QUACERT).
