HUTECH expands international collaboration with the University of Canterbury

To strengthen international partnerships and enhance the quality of education, on November 27, the Department of International Relations and Project Management at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) hosted a meeting with representatives from the University of Canterbury (New Zealand).
 
During the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations and Project Management, warmly welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of HUTECH's educational scale and international collaboration programs.

Notably, HUTECH is advancing two significant projects funded by the British Council: the TNE Program (Transnational Education Program), which promotes the development of international academic collaborations, and the Gender Equality Program, which focuses on fostering gender equality in education and career opportunities. Furthermore, in 2025, the university will host the GSETS 2025 International Conference, highlighting green technology and its role in driving sustainable development.

Ms. Monique van Veen, Director of Global Relations at the University of Canterbury, provided an overview of the institution. Recognized as one of New Zealand’s leading universities, Canterbury is renowned for its high-quality academic programs and research, particularly in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), renewable energy, and STEM. With a distinguished faculty and state-of-the-art research facilities, the university emphasizes impactful teaching and research with global significance.

She also expressed interest in HUTECH’s research and academic programs, emphasizing potential collaboration in AI and renewable energy. The University of Canterbury introduced affordable PhD scholarship opportunities and proposed a joint faculty mentoring model to support students during their studies. Both institutions also discussed the potential for collaboration in TESOL programs, highlighting significant growth opportunities for future partnerships.
