As part of its ongoing commitment to expanding international cooperation, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a working session with representatives from the College of Computing at Khon Kaen University (KKU), Thailand, on November 29. This meeting marked a new milestone in their partnership and opened numerous opportunities for students in Information Technology.

During the session, Dr. Ly Thien Trang, Vice President of HUTECH, emphasized the critical role of internationalization in the university's development strategy. She introduced HUTECH’s international collaboration initiatives, such as GSETS 2025 and LeX, while expressing a desire to explore collaborative opportunities in research and student exchange programs with KKU.

The KKU representatives showcased their achievements in research and education, reaffirming the value of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) previously signed between the two institutions. They also expressed interest in welcoming HUTECH students through exchange programs designed to foster academic and cultural engagement.

HUTECH currently offers four majors in Information Technology, with content and development directions closely aligned with KKU’s programs. HUTECH took pride in presenting the HUTECH IT Open Day—a meaningful event that connects students with industry partners and promotes collaboration between the university and various stakeholders in the sector. The two institutions also discussed the potential for exchange programs for students, faculty, and staff to enhance academic interaction, cultural exchange, and professional capacity building, promising a future of deeper collaboration.

The session concluded with detailed discussions about collaborative initiatives in Information Technology. The meeting not only strengthened the relationship between HUTECH and KKU but also paved the way for opportunities benefiting students, graduate learners, and faculty members from both institutions. With similarities in academic programs and development strategies, both sides are optimistic about implementing impactful joint projects to improve the quality of education and research.

From KKU, attendees included Assoc. Prof. Khamron Sunat, Dean of the College of Computing; Assoc. Prof. Chitsutha Soomlek, Vice Dean for Research and Innovation; Assoc. Prof. Pusadee Seresangtakul, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs; Assoc. Prof. Sumonta Kasemvilas, Faculty Member; and Ms. Kasama Orthong, International Relations Officer.
