VJIT works with Tochigi business delegation to expand career opportunities for students

To connect students with career opportunities and meet the workforce demands of leading Japanese companies, the Vietnam-Japan Institute of Technology (VJIT) at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) hosted a meeting with One-Value Company and a business delegation from Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, on November 21.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung, Director of VJIT, warmly welcomed Ms. Yoko Ishii, Director of the Department of Industry, Labor, and Tourism of Tochigi Prefecture, along with representatives from 10 major Japanese companies.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung provided an overview of HUTECH and VJIT, highlighting their training focus on aligning education with corporate culture and needs. VJIT offers 16 diverse majors in economics, management, engineering, and services, equipping students with in-depth knowledge and strong Japanese language skills. The institute also maintains close partnerships with Japanese companies, organizes annual student exchange programs, and provides opportunities for students to gain practical experience in international work environments.

During the discussion, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung addressed inquiries from the delegation, sharing that 80% of students—primarily in engineering—are retained by Japanese companies after internships. He noted that HUTECH students achieve Japanese proficiency levels of N3 to N4, sufficient for professional work environments. He also emphasized HUTECH's readiness to support companies recruiting Vietnamese employees for the first time by offering guidance and resources to ensure smooth hiring processes.

Both parties are engaged in discussions during the meeting
Tochigi Prefecture, home to over 10,000 Vietnamese residents and numerous international students, places significant focus on Vietnamese talent. Ms. Yoko Ishii remarked that students proficient in Japanese, with strong professional skills and the flexibility to work between Vietnam and Japan, are highly valued by local businesses.

The delegation visited a Japanese language class at HUTECH to observe the teaching methods and assess student abilities.
