On November 7th, the Department of International Relations and Project Management of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a formal meeting with the University of Bolton (United Kingdom), engaging in in-depth discussions on potential opportunities for educational collaboration and student exchange programs between the two institutions.
The meeting began with an introduction by Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations and Project Management, who provided an overview of the HUTECH Education System and the Institute of International Education. She highlighted HUTECH’s significant progress in expanding its network of international collaborations and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to improving educational quality and student support.

Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong also showcased HUTECH’s programs delivered in English and its Buddy program, designed to support international students. She expressed HUTECH’s enthusiasm for welcoming students from the University of Bolton to study and engage with the campus community.
Dr. Nguyen Chi Thang, Director of the Institute of International Education, expanded on these efforts by detailing HUTECH’s ongoing academic partnerships with universities such as the Lincoln University and Open University Malaysia (OUM).

The University of Bolton shared its criteria for partner engagement, emphasizing quality, scale, and alignment in collaborative programs. Representatives from the University of Bolton praised HUTECH’s proven ability to host international students and its diverse exchange programs, highlighting their strong appeal to students at the University of Bolton and their potential to strengthen institutional ties between the two universities.

Dr. Nguyen Chi Thang proposed several key areas for collaboration, including TESOL, Computer Science, and Marketing, emphasizing the strong alignment between the Master’s TESOL programs at both institutions as a promising avenue for deeper cooperation.

Both parties reached an agreement to further explore collaboration on Transnational Education (TNE), identifying the Master’s TESOL program as a focal point. The meeting not only underscored significant opportunities for academic partnerships but also laid the groundwork for the expansion of student exchange programs.
