On the morning of December 7, students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) officially returned to school after a period away from campus as part of the preventive measure taken against the Covid-19 pandemic.
HUTECH students return to school starting on December 7
Although the cases of close contact with Patient No. 1342 (a student of the Distance Learning program in English Language, who were taking classes on campus on November 22) all have tested negative for Covid-19 according to information from Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control and Prevention, HUTECH still asks all faculty, staff, and students to strictly follow the “5K” principles of the Ministry of Health (in Vietnamese): Facemasks (Khẩu trang) - Disinfection (Khử khuẩn) - Distance (Khoảng cách) - No gathering (Không tập trung) - Health declaration (Khai báo y tế).
Carrying out temperature checks for all students entering and leaving campus
Specifically, when returning to campus, all students will have their temperatures checked, wear facemasks, keep their distance, and wash their hands regularly with soap and antiseptic solutions (provided by the University) during their study at the university. As soon as there are signs of suspicion of Covid-19 infection such as fever, cough, difficulty breathing, students and staff must immediately report to the local health authority for examination and testing.
Previously, HUTECH also cooperated with Binh Thanh District Medical Center to disinfect all facilities on campus, and at the same time strengthen the cleaning work in common areas and surfaces, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene according to the set of criteria for assessing the level of safety in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic in schools issued by the Ministry of Education and Training on April 28, 2020.
