Full of excitement on the opening day of the 2019 HUTECH Faculty and Staff Sports Fest

On the morning of April 7, HUTECH officially kicked off the 2019 Faculty and Staff Sports Fest at the High-Quality Manpower Training Center. The opening ceremony and early rounds of competition took place in a lively atmosphere.

The Sports Fest is among the series of programs leading up to the celebration of the 22nd anniversary of HUTECH Labor Union (April 14, 1997 - April 14, 2019) and the 24th anniversary of the university’s establishment (April 26, 1995 - April 26, 2019). The event was organized with the aims of building and fostering relationships among the faculty and staff members of HUTECH as well as increasing their motivation towards physical training and comprehensive development
 

The 2019 HUTECH Faculty and Staff Sports Fest attracts more than 400 participating athletes from 17 departments and faculties across 11 categories of competition.

The opening ceremony was attended by Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Labor Confederation, Dr. Kieu Tuan - Chairman of HUTECH Board of Trustees, Dr. Bui Van The Vinh - Vice President of HUTECH, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Chairman of HUTECH Labor Union and Mr. Tran Tuan Vu - Director of Vietnam Connection Travel Service Co., Ltd. - the main sponsor.

Dr. Bui Van The Vinh, on behalf of the Board of Presidents, expressed his delight at the sports spirit embodied by the faculty and staff members of HUTECH. He also congratulated HUTECH Labor Union and hoped that it would continue to excel in future activities. Finally, he wished the best outcomes and success to this year’s Sports Fest.

HUTECH Faculty and Staff Sports Fest kicked off with the mixed relay race with each team competing with two male and two female athletes. At the end of the final rounds, the coalition team Office of Student Affairs and Faculty of Architecture - Arts finished first which is followed by the Office of Academic Services and Testing and the Faculty of Pharmacy in second and third place, respectively.
