Vietnam-India Colors: Exploring culture and career opportunities for students of Social Sciences and Public Relations

On December 27, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Public Relations (SS&PR) at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) hosted the event “Vietnam-India Colors” in collaboration with the Consulate General of India in Vietnam. This event offered students a unique opportunity to explore Indian culture while expanding their understanding of foreign policies between the two nations.

Dr. Vu Quoc Anh, Dean of the Faculty of SS&PR, highlighted the importance of understanding the friendly relations between Vietnam and India. He described the event as a valuable opportunity for students to discover the distinctive cultural aspects of India and gain a broader perspective on foreign policies, supporting their academic growth and future career planning.

Guided by Dr. Vipra Pandey, Consul General of India in Vietnam, students were immersed in the vibrant cultural heritage of India. Through captivating stories, Dr. Pandey shared the significance of India’s colorful festivals, which symbolize unity and spiritual devotion. Students also explored classical Indian dance forms like Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and Odissi, each steeped in cultural and historical significance.
 
Additionally, yoga was introduced as a practice to harmonize body, mind, and soul. Dr. Pandey also conveyed profound life philosophies that reflect the Indian spirit of harmony and reverence for life. These insights enriched students’ cultural understanding and fostered connections with India’s ancient civilization, known for its rich traditions and unique identity.

Shared cultural values, such as familial respect and reverence for tradition, further strengthen the deep-rooted ties between the two nations. Dr. Pandey emphasized that this relationship serves as both a historical bridge and a foundation for ongoing cultural exchange and integration in today’s world.

In politics, Vietnam and India’s close coordination within international organizations like the United Nations and ASEAN has elevated their global standing and contributed to regional peace and stability. In education, India supports Vietnam through scholarships, student exchange programs, and knowledge-sharing in advanced fields like science and medicine. Cultural initiatives, such as art exchanges, cultural festivals, and personnel exchange programs, continue to promote mutual understanding and strengthen ties between the two peoples.
