To foster unity and celebrate the unique cultural heritage of Vietnam and Korea during the vibrant spring season, the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Technology (VKIT) at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) hosted the Vietnamese-Korean Lunar New Year Cultural Experience on the morning of January 17.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from VKIT students alongside students from Sungshin University and Tongmyong University
Workshops on traditional crafts and customs, such as making paper kites, learning Korean New Year bowing etiquette, and playing Vietnamese and Korean folk games, offered participants a deeper understanding of the Lunar New Year traditions in both countries and encouraged greater appreciation for their cultural values
Culinary highlights, including making banh xeo and sampling Korean rice wine, added a special touch to the celebration, blending the flavors of the two cultures
VKIT also presented meaningful Lunar New Year gifts to students who had made notable contributions over the past year. These gifts symbolized gratitude, good wishes, and encouragement for students to continue excelling in their studies and personal growth.
The Vietnamese-Korean Lunar New Year Cultural Experience program served as a bridge for connection, spreading warmth and providing a vibrant cultural exchange between VKIT and Korean students. As the new year begins with opportunities and challenges ahead, the hope is that students will continue to uphold their determination, unity, and creativity, embracing a year of energy and success.
