The tree-planting fundraising project, Nurture the Nature, is a collaboration between the Communication and Event Team (C.E.T) of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) and Global Sowing Green Seeds Co., Ltd. Together, they aim to create a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable environment.
The launch ceremony for the project took place at Saigon Campus
In his opening remarks, Mr. Thai Chi Bao, Head of C.E.T, addressed the pressing issue of environmental pollution, "Outside, the dust is so thick it’s often mistaken for fog, while rising temperatures caused by the greenhouse effect contribute to more frequent storms and floods. The loss of green spaces is a significant factor behind these challenges. Now is the time to act and protect the environment before it’s too late."
Mr. Thai Chi Bao highlighted the urgent state of environmental pollution
Inspired by the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the belief that "Plant a seed, nurture life for the future," C.E.T initiated “Nurture the Nature.” The project features two core activities: fundraising through merchandise sales (December 4–19) and a team-building event for university students (December 15). Of the total profits raised, 70% will be used to purchase tree seedlings, while the remaining 30% will cover organizational costs. Global Sowing Green Seeds will handle the procurement and planting of the trees in suitable locations.
C.E.T and Global Sowing Green Seeds formalized their partnership for the tree-planting project “Nurture the Nature”
Mr. Ho Cong Thanh, General Director of Global Sowing Green Seeds emphasized the root causes of environmental pollution, including deforestation, factory emissions, industrial and agricultural waste, and excessive use of air conditioning. He shared, "The most effective and sustainable solution is planting trees. A single tree with a 50-year lifespan produces substantial oxygen, regulates the air, prevents soil erosion, enriches soil fertility, and provides habitats for wildlife. Green trees are the foundation for a cleaner and more sustainable environment."
Mr. Ho Cong Thanh emphasized the pivotal role of trees in creating a sustainable environment As part of the project, students visited the fundraising booth, where handcrafted items such as bracelets, sandalwood bags, and knitted products were on display. Proceeds from these items will go directly toward the tree-planting fund, supporting the shared goal of a greener and cleaner future.
The fundraising booth attracted many students and company representatives
