On September 9, HUTECH Japanese Studies students teamed up with students from Hosei University (Japan) for a seminar on Vietnamese phonetics at the Saigon Campus. This is a great opportunity for cultural exchange and language learning.

At the seminar themed “Exploring Vietnamese phonetics,” Ms. Ho To Lien, the Dean of the Faculty of Japanese Studies at HUTECH, delved into the vibrant and diverse world of the Vietnamese language. She covered tonal systems, sentence patterns, and essential vocational compound words, providing students with a preliminary understanding of Vietnamese.

During the seminar, students from both institutions got a crash course on Vietnam. They learned about everything—from Vietnam’s official name to the significance of our national emblem. They also dived into the rich cultural differences between the North, Central, and South regions, as well as the significance of traditional costumes.
Additionally, they peeked into the connections between Vietnam and Japan, building a cultural bridge that connects young people from both countries.
The seminar highlights similarities and cultural links between two countries
The seminar is a part of the international scientific research cooperation program between Hosei University and HUTECH Faculty of Japanese Studies. Its purpose is to enrich the knowledge of Japanese students, fostering a deeper understanding of language and culture during their study in Vietnam.
