"UNIMAS Study Tour 2024" organized by the HUTECH Institute of International Education in collaboration with the University of Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) has provided students with valuable experiences.
“UNIMAS Study Tour 2024” is a series of activities for students to explore the culture of Vietnam and Malaysia. From seminars to field trips, students from both universities had the opportunity to expand their knowledge and build relationships with international friends.

Starting the sequence, UNIMAS students had a field trip to Cu Chi Tunnel - A Vietnamese Heroic Wonder. Here, the students learned about the history and strategic role of tunnels in the resistance war against the US and explored the sophisticated tunnel system. This experience helped students feel deeply about the resilience of the Vietnamese people in such a challenging historical period.

On August 7th, UNIMAS students studied about the relationship between Vietnam and Malaysia, especially educational and cultural cooperation at the Malaysian Consulate and the Malaysian Education Office. They also had a meet and greet with Dr. Azriey Mazlan about life in Vietnam. After that, the students visited the War Remnants Museum and the Independence Palace to learn about the evidence of the Vietnamese historical period.

Following that is the Saigon Half Day Tour on August 8th, the students continued to explore the Sai Gon - Gia Dinh Special Forces Museum to learn about the life of people during wartime in Sai Gon - Gia Dinh. After that, students visited Vinh Nghiem Pagoda and experienced the religious activities of the people here.

In addition, UNIMAS students had the opportunity to interact with students of HUTECH Faculty of Architecture - Arts and students of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Together, they made traditional lanterns, learned about craft techniques, and shared the wealthy cultural stories of each country.

On August 9th, at Gom Bien Hoa Ltd., the students explored the ceramic products display and listened to Mr. Dinh Cong Viet Khoi - Dean of the Faculty of Ceramics - Dong Nai College of Decorative Arts sharing about the origin and characteristics of Bien Hoa ceramics. The students experienced pottery making process at the workshop. Next, at Phuoc Son Monastery, the students learned about the history and architecture of the monastery and explore religious activities here.

Hopefully, the students have expanded their knowledge and understanding of the two countries' cultures, strengthened their language proficiency, adaptability, and relationship building with international friends.
