On the morning of April 26, 2021, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) celebrates the 26th anniversary of its establishment (26/4/1995 - 26/4/2021).
The ceremony had the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training, leaders of The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City Education and Training Department as well as officials from various other provincial, municipal, and district departments.

On HUTECH’s side, there were representatives of the university’s leadership including Dr. Kieu Tuan - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of HUTECH along with other members of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors; Meritorious Teacher Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Minh Thi - Chairman of the University’s Founding Council; Prof. Dr. Sc. Ho Dac Loc - HUTECH President and other members of the Board of Presidents; Dr. Kieu Xuan Hung - General Director of HUTECH Education Development and Investment Joint Stock Company along with the participation of department leaders, staff, lecturers and students of HUTECH.

In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, Dr. Kieu Tuan emotionally recounted the story of HUTECH's 26-year journey from the early days of its establishment to the solid foundation that the institution has achieved to the present day. The exceptional achievements are best reflected in the number of students recognized for their accomplishments over the year, particularly the number of outstanding students that have been honored with receiving the “Student of 5 Merits” title at both the municipal and state level.

Representative of the Ministry of Education and Training, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Van Trinh delivered a speech to congratulate and highly appreciate the University’s exceptional growth and accomplishments in the areas of academic advancement and research excellence. Mr. Mai Van Trinh also made suggestions for HUTECH’s future development orientation regarding continuously promoting its innate strengths for quality improvement in academic training while adapting to the growing trend of institutional autonomy in higher education.
The Ministry of Education and Training, The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam National Education Union, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labor awarded several recognitions, including three Emulation Flags, Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals gaining outstanding achievements in the emulation movements, namely “To teach well, to study well” and “Innovation and creativity in teaching and learning”, excellent performance two academic years in a row (2018-2019 & 2019-2020), “Excellent Labor Collective”, active participation in emulation movements promoting good work ethics and building a strong labor union, etc.
Within the framework of the ceremony, three faculties were recognized for their outstanding performance in successfully attaining program accreditation certificates. The University also awarded two lecturers who have been appointed the Associate Professor title and one individual who completed the doctoral studies. Besides, several advising lecturers and students who have succeeded in different academic and research competitions during the 2020-2021 academic year were also recognized on this occasion.

On this occasion, HUTECH officially launched the first issue of the Journal of Technology & Innovation (JTIN) and presented the decision on the appointment of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - HUTECH Vice President as Editor in Chief and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong - Director of HUTECH Institute of Engineering and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Dinh Bay - Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology as Associate Editors.
